ZT Corporate and Fordham University Partner to Create Internship Program Amid COVID-19’s Impact on Education

Students will gain academic credit and hands-on experience while interning with the private equity firm.

ZT Corporate, a private equity firm with offices in Houston and New York City that specializes in healthcare and automotive companies, announced today it has partnered with the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University to create an internship program for university students in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While classroom learning is on hold and internship opportunities across the country continue to dwindle, this program will offer a remote internship to four promising finance and business students from Fordham University. Students will have the opportunity to continue their education safely during the pandemic and gain academic credit, real world expertise and employment credentials.

“During COVID-19, the need for student internships and professional development opportunities has never been greater, and our team at ZT Corporate is excited to step up and offer remote internships to these promising business and finance students from Fordham University,” said Sheheryar Shah, Group Chief Operating Officer and Chief Investment Officer at ZT Corporate. “This partnership is an innovative way to allow students to intern safely in a remote working environment with our ZT Corporate team while gaining the experience they need. Internships are the gateway to gainful employment and this experience will help build their resume and confidence to apply for positions when the economy recovers.”

Fordham’s students will work in a team to tackle business intelligence and data analytics for Altus ACE (Accountable Care Entity), a physician-led organization within ZT Corporate’s healthcare portfolio that focuses on today’s evolving healthcare landscape. The students’ work will be part of their graded internship and research report for academic credit.

“As an alumnus of Fordham University, I am grateful that ZT Corporate supports its employees and allows us to continue relationships with our universities,” said Shenhao “Josh” Ju, a Private Equity Associate at ZT Corporate. “Fordham University is a high-level educational institution, and we’re looking forward to the bright ideas and insights their students will bring to our portfolio of companies.”

“Fordham University is appreciative that ZT Corporate is offering our students an opportunity to work on real-world consulting projects, and we’re grateful to see companies adapt to help our students during these unprecedented times,” said Michael Cheah, Clinical Associate Professor at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University.

ZT Corporate’s partnership with Fordham University is one of many ways the organization is stepping up to provide support during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to supporting education, the company is providing voluntary, free testing to its 1,500 employees as well as on the ground support to its communities through the Altus Foundation.
