The South Asian Chamber of Commerce (SACC), a Houston based non-profit organization whose mission is to build community through business and foster relationships between South Asian entrepreneurs and professionals within the broader Houston community, hosted their 25th Anniversary Gala on October 24th, 2018 at the Crowne Plaza Northwest-Brookhollow where they awarded ZT Corporate’s CEO, Taseer Badar, with the 2018 Businessperson of the Year Award.
Houston, Texas – The South Asian Chamber of Commerce (SACC) presented the ‘Businessperson of the Year’ award to Taseer Badar, CEO of ZT Corporate, at their 25th Anniversary ‘Houston Strong’ Gala last week.
The SACC Businessperson of the Year Award recognizes those entrepreneurs who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. This award also acknowledges and celebrates the personal and generous contributions by a Business Person and the difference their involvement makes to the local community. The goal is for the award to make a difference through the way it encourages entrepreneurial activity among those with potential and recognizes the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement. This year’s recipient of the award is none other than ZT Corporate’s CEO, Taseer Badar.
After finishing his B.A. in entrepreneurship and finance from Texas A&M, Badar grew an interest in financial operations and formed ZT Corporate in 1997 to offer unique investor-owner opportunities to clients. Over time, ZT has grown into a $650+ million business adding 50 plus new individual businesses to its portfolio. Taseer has also helped raise funds and made significant contributions to advance his passion for healthcare through the Altus Foundation, which provides millions in free healthcare.
Badar’s original ideas and innovation made him an ideal candidate for SACC’s Businessperson of the Year Award. “We are immensely proud in honoring Badar’s business achievements, as well as his outstanding innovation of establishing Altus Accountable Care Entity (ACE) with the goal of providing increased quality of care, lower costs, and improved patient population health,” said Sohail Hassan, the 2018-2019 President of SACC.
With a turnout of over 450 attendees, SACC’s ‘Houston Strong’ Gala was an evening of excitement, networking and celebration in honor of the organization’s 25th anniversary, for the South Asian community, and the City of Houston. By organizing events such as their Annual Gala, SACC hopes to establish regional economic prosperity and success for its members, while providing opportunities to connect South Asian entrepreneurs and business owners within the broader Houston.
